Week 3 - Newfoundland

Gros Morne National Park

The spray of the water, the sun on my face the wind in my hair, and the splendor of all that was before us was intoxicating. As we moved further into the fjord, the features and waterfalls presented themselves, from the Tin Man in the cliff, to the Old Man sleeping on the ridge. Too many pictures and video were taken, but it’s that desire to capture all the wonderful moments that kicked in. I did take plenty of time to breathe and absorb the beauty before me. This is one of those places that is simply a picture painted by the Universe.

Newfoundland and the Eastern Most Point of North America - I really had the feeling like I had done something.

Traveling by motorcycle and at times suffering certain conditions is the price to pay for the reward of arriving at an incredible location. Riding up to Cape Spear, the most eastern point in North America with the oldest Newfoundland Lighthouse, the view was remarkable, and it was the reward. While the wind was brutal and the temperature still a bit brisk, the sun was peeking through. I was ecstatic to be there and wanted to take the time to experience Cape Spear. Let me just say though, that the wind at Cape Spear was crazy! Taking a picture with my iPhone required two tight hands on the device, least it fly away like a kite. The views of the Atlantic, the cliffs along the coast, and the entire historic site were iconic, and a real photographer would be able to do it justice. However, nothing can rival being there. It’s a remarkable feeling to have been to the most easterly point in North America, so far north from home. I really had the feeling like I had done something.
